CONTRACTOR'S
PLANT AND MACHINERY
Covers any form of
accidental damage to contractor’s own, hired-in or hired-out
plant and machinery whether the insured items are at work,
or at rest, or being dismantled for the purpose of cleaning
or overhauling or in the course of aforesaid operations themselves,
or in the course of subsequent re-erection, but in any case
only after successful commissioning.
Standard Exclusions
Loss or damage,
- due to electrical and mechanical breakdown, but if consequence
of such breakdown an accident occurs causing external
damage, such consequential damage will be indemnifiable
- to replaceable parts and attachments
- due to explosion of any boiler or pressure vessel
- to vehicles designed and licensed for general road use (registered
under the Motor Traffic Act)
- to waterborne vessels or crafts
- due to total or partial immersion of tidal waters
- whilst in transit
- due to wear and tear
- whist undergoing a test of any kind or is being used in
any manner or for any purpose other than for which
it is designed
- to plant and machinery working underground
- due to war, invasion, strike, riot and civil commotion,
acts of terrorism
- due to nuclear, biological and chemical attack
- due to faults or defects existing at the time of commencement
of the policy
- due to willful negligence
- for which supplier is or manufacturer is responsible
- identified as consequential losses
- discovered only at the time of taking an inventory
Items usually covered includes, excavators, wheel/ track loaders,
drilling rigs, compressors, generators, vibrators, rollers
etc.
