HNB Assurance recently initiated a programme titled “School to Office” (S2O)” in which, the main objective of the programme was to train and develop 100 school leavers/ job seekers, thus, enhancing their skills enabling them to get employed. From over 2000 applicants, 100 school leavers were selected through a written assessment to undergo the programme. The programme went on for 6 weeks which included 100 lecture hours.
The programme was designed covering 10 key modules such as transformation from a Student to a Professional, world of work, Business English, IT, numerical skills, communication and presentation skills, leadership and teamwork, workplace ethics and etiquettes, communication and presentation skills, service excellence, sales and marketing, etc. The entire programme was coined to allow the participants to develop the general knowledge and skills that are required to get into employment and also to perform well at work.
Ms. Muditha Ratnayake received the “Most Outstanding Student” Award of the first ever School to Office Programme. After receiving the award, she stated “The Programme helped me to develop my personality and many other skills. The trainers were inspiring and they almost became my role models and I’m so sure, that this knowledge, experience and relationships I built will come so handy for many years to come”.
Manjula de Silva – Managing Director at HNB Assurance stated ‘Throughout this programme adequate practical exposure on work life was given whilst they had the privilege to listen to real life sharing experiences of the Management Team of HNBA. We wish all our applicants to excel in their careers and future endeavors and I am sure they will apply what they learnt here when they rise in their respective careers. We are also expecting to set and maintain high standards for the second batch of the ‘S2O’ Program which will be a continuing feature of our sustainability agenda.
